Mark Molchan is an illustrator based out of Portland, OR.
Inspired by the comic book artists and illustrators of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, he has produced gallery work, murals, illustrations, portraits, and landscapes.
Mark is currently working with Dark Horse Comics to create covers for James Cameron’s Avatar series.
He has been published in Spectrum Fantastic Art annual and the Infected by Art annual, where his work won Bronze in the digital category, 5th and Honorable Mention in Grand Prize Winner, and graced the cover of IBA #8.
He also created artwork for the The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Tomb Raider Reborn IP’s for the official Bethesda and Square Enix stores, as well as working with Jon Schindehette for the ArtOrder® brand.
His graphite piece “The Return” was nominated for a Chesley Award in 2016.
Mark published “The Bear Inside” children’s book in 2016, and started developing his own IP “Snow Day” in 2017 by releasing a line of Holiday cards, “The Snowman” and “Winter Whimsy” through ArtOrder® Publishing.
Ongoing projects include scene and prop production for Nutcracker Vignettes (the drive-thru Nutcracker show) in Portland, in partnership with Classical Ballet Academy. As well as poster and ad design for their annual ballet shows.
